RE: intake mod

The extension pushes the filter closer to corner behind the headlight and
further away from the engine where it can grab more cool air. The setup
sounds similar to the one that EIP Tuning uses on there VR6 Turbo where the
filter sits right next to the cold air intake hole for the stock filter. If
you are will to spend the extra money, I would say to get the Ramair filter
setup for the P-Flo. The Ramair filter comes with an aluminum pipe that
pushes it very close to the corner. In addition, the Ramair filter doesn't
have a cap at the tip of the filter, it is open to pull in more air. In tests
in a magazine from England (Max Power), the Ramair filter was shown to provide
more torque at a lower rpm than the K&N on the same vehicle. Horsepower also
arrived at a lower rpm, but it wasn't as much as the K&N, which peaked about
100 rpms higher. In 0 to 60 tests, the Ramair out pulled the K&N.

Subject:	intake mod

went to a VW car show this past sunday a guy that is the head installer at
a local stereo shop did this neat little mod to the intake. he was looking
around the install bay while working on his car a nd noticed that the ports
for the enclosures were the same size as the MAF and the p-flo. he found
that by using this extension there was a little bit of an increase in power
due to the increase in the intake length. does anyone have any comments on
this?
