What is it about dealers?  I have not run across a single one (CO, IL, 
WI) that has treated my purchases (3 new VW's) or maintenence visits with 
any sort of behavior that resembles concern or respect.

Case in point: I reluctantly brought my '96 GLX in yesterday to the local 
dealer for its 15k service.  I brought it in sparkling, I got it back 
with grease smears all over the hood, the front fenders, along the 
interior rocker panels and who knows what else they managed to grease.
