High Quality Caliper Painting and Finishing

Hi All,
I've been eyeing my brake calipers on my cars, and thinking of painting
them black. My problem is this. On looking at a DE at Waterfest, I decided
that I really don't like the sort of rough surface that the brakes have
(sort of the texture of a VW dashboard). Anyway I was wondering how much
better they would look if they were machined first, grinding out the
texture and smoothing the surface.
If you look closely at the calipers on a Porsche 911, they are high gloss
and completely smooth. It is that look I wish to get by painting them
black, and not giving it just a REALLY DIRTY look. I know for this I will
need to totally remove the caliper and grind it down. I may at that point,
order the larger '96+ brake setup and go to work on them, atleast for the
Corrado.
	Just some thoughts-G

PS on that larger brake size, what is different exactly. Is there a
different master cylinder or just calipers, rotors and pads? Later-G
