DE stands for Drivers Edition. It is the newest version of the GTI-VR6.
You get special color/trim, wheels (not tires though...shitty
GA's)...lowered suspension. That's about it. The 30V V6 is definately
going into the new Passat (it already is in it in Germany). The car is
essentially an Audi with VW skin.
