RE: Exhaust???

By going with a larger diameter exhaust, you will end up hurting low end
torque if there isn't enough back pressure, but you might still get an
increase in horsepower. This isn't due only to the size of the pipe, but also
the design of the muffler. You can go with a 2.5 inch pipe as long as you
have a muffler the runs good with (EX: Techtonics System with Borla muffler).
If the muffler doesn't create enough back pressure, you will end up hurting
your torque.

Subject:	Exhaust???

In the May issue of European Car there is an article on the Schmidt Racing
Team Corrado and GLX.
	It says:
"...everything else (exhaust) was replaced with 1 3/4-inch mandrel bent
pipe...2 inch pipe was tried, but hurt low-end torque."

these cars are racing in the showroom stock category.
does this mean that we are going in the wrong direction by installing larger
diameter exhausts?
anybody know the answer to this one?
