     Hey guys this is not to be missed if you are in the area.  It has 
     proven to be a goodtime in years past.  If you are  near Santa Clara 
     Ca. it is worth the trip.

     The event is will be held in: Santa Clara-San Jose, CA, USA on Sunday
     May  18th 1997 starting 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  
     
     Event Description:  
     
          5th annual ND Charity Car Show  for water-cooled Volkswagens and
     Audis only. Refreshments and $1000 of prizes. Admission is 3 cans of
     food or $3 per family for entry. If you want to show your car the cost
     is $20 per spot in advance. See one of the largest and best equipped
     independent Volkswagen service centers in the country. Volkswagen and
     Bosch trained technicians will be available for questions and advice.

          All food and donations goes to the Second Harvest Food Bank.

          Huge once a year savings on hundreds of items. All parts and
     accessories will be drastically reduced. Many items will be sold below
     cost to clear out our parts department of used, obsolete and slightly
     damage items. No special orders, phone orders or early sales please.

     Also on this same day is the annual De Anza Deul Autocross at De Anza 
     Junior college in Cupertino Ca.  This is an open autocross race!  
     There are no classes and modification restrictions.  Anyone with a 
     current driverslincense and a car that passes a saftey check is 
     welcome to race, the fee is nominal ($20 last year I think).  It is a 
     lot of fun and is even fun just to watch!  Cars range from Sunbeams, 
     to Acura NSX, classic Corvetes to turbo 911's.  It is the parking lot 
     of the junior college, and starts around 7:30 I think.  Call New

     Hope to see VW enthusiasts at both events, I'll try to catch them 
     both, maybe even get in some racing this year.
