Re: Oil Changes



     5.8 quarts! That sounds like an awful lot.  When I add 4.3 quarts 
     (like it says in my manual for 1995) the dip stick is right on the 
     money, and this includes a filter change. also I have never drained 
     out 5.8 quarts out of the car after a dealer oil change.  I guess I'll 
     call VW and ask.

The VR6 takes 5.8 quarts.  Originally, it was supposed to take 6.2 quarts, but 
there was a service bulletin sent out saying that "it now takes 5.8 quarts".
 Also, look in the Bentley's manual.  It says 5.8 quarts.  (Yes, that's more
than most, but the VR6 isn't like most....)
