Its all about making the playoffs with the worse record to secure a higher draft pick.  I think that was the deal made with the Devil (Ainge), "If I allow you to make the playoffs you must secure me the worse possible record".  How? You must bench Hunter, who rebounds too much, and keep the starters on the floor as much as possible to make sure that we can not win close games down the stretch.
