RE: Ryan - Foot in Mouth

Did you even read what Ryan said? He wasn't having a scholastic discussion
on the the historical winning percentages between two top college basketball
teams with different racial makeup's or even comparing the man-to-man match
up from one team to another. It was race Vs. race, only.

He said Vandy would lose because they had too many white guys on the team.
And he was wrong.

To chose to compare individual Olympic athletes in individual sports is
hardly arguing on merit. The World Championships against Argentina would be
a better comparison.

Except it proves the point that a team is more then the just the color of
its players. Even when the players on one team are considerably lesser
skilled individual players race based perceptions, without considering the
individuals and the team play, proved incredibly false.

This is why what Ryan said is just plain stupid when talking about a college
game of relatively equally skilled teams and doesn't prove anything patently
obvious. On the contrary. It only proved the adage of "...on any given
night the better team will win."

When Ryan covers Track and Field his opinions on race may have value. But I
doubt it. He'll find some other ignorant thing to say.

  >>Why do Kenyans win all the marathons?" <<

The more apropos question might be why do black athletes dominate the
sprinting events, the 100 and 200. Same with the long jump and high jump.

Look at the racial composition. Let's just assume for the sake of
discussion that everybody is putting in the same sort of effort. It should
speak volumes that blacks absolutely, irrefutably dominate these events...
AS A GENERAL RULE, black athletes run faster and jump higher. Look at the
finals of those events. There will frequently be 7 black guys, 1 white, and
nary an Asian to be found. There'll be the occasional white phenom that
will do well, like that Russian guy from several olympiads ago. I don't
know how anyone with reasonable perception could dispute any of that.

It would follow too, that those attributes would advantage one on the
basketball court. Mind you, I'm no Ryan fan; this is more a comment on the
fact that so many are so profoundly steeped in PC bullshit, they'd sooner
call somebody heinous names (racist is pretty freely bandied about these
days) than acknowledge the patently obvious, or argue something on its
merit.
