Pierce Against the Wizards

Pierce played up to his potential Saturday night only because he was
single-covered, mostly by Stackhouse, who's a mediocre defender at best and
won't risk getting too many fouls. It's when he's being double-teamed
and/or covered by a top-notch defender (like Artest), that his ball-handling
deficiencies and insistence on going against the odds show up and his
productivity plummets.

As I've said before, he sorely needs a strong, confident, competent coach
that he can respect to get him to adapt his game to the situation, in the
ways so many on this list have pointed out.
