   Well, I offer my usual remedy:  Good Tommy is an astute and knowledgeable 
basketball guy who can explain what's going on in a coherent way so that all 
understand.  He can also critique the performance of the Celtics in an 
objective manner and usually does so in quiet tones.  Evil Tommy is an over-the-top 
lunatic who sees the conspiracy you mention in every whistle, and who can 
irrittate the hell out of you with his hysterical ranting.  I like Good Tommy, but 
when Evil Tommy shows up, it's time to hit the mute button.
