Celtics Lament

This one hurts real bad:

You ever remember as a kid getting that angry, or no more like a combo anger
and sadness, feeling well up as you follow your favourite team to defeat and
there's nothing you can do about it.

Your evening is ruined and no matter how much you try to justify things by
rationalizing that Paul's hand was still hurting or that T-Mac just had one
of those unstoppable games, it just doesn't work.

You then try the big-picture approach and tell yourself that this is one of
82 games; entertaining as heck; and could be the wakeup call for the team to
play better next time.

Well then, what was Houston on Wednesday and Milwaukee before that? Paul
did hurt his hand and we were playing the same team, Houston, within days of
each game which could have accounted for the loss.

No, it hurts and it isn't going away very quickly. We have been playing
closer to sleep apnea than being fully woken up with those momentary
glimpses of brilliance interspersed by lengthy periods of somnambulance.

I am concerned and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. I really
don't think I am asking for much. I just want a team that plays hard every
game not in the course of a game. I want wins that I can come out saying:
"Well they certainly earned it" rather than "Wow, that's really incredible."

That lump isn't lessening much; I guess the only approach left to me is wait
and see.
