Chad Ford Hates Ricky; Likes Jiri

Brendan, Connecticut: Will this Ricky Davis trade always be a glaring failure for Danny Ainge or will it actually pay off sometime... ever?

Chad Ford: (1:21 PM ET ) I know Ricky had a big game for the Celtics the other night, (33 points versus the Bucks) but I don't see how he and Paul Pierce can co-exist every night. I think coach Jim O'Brien is going to miss guys like Eric Williams and Tony Battie down the road. The Celtics were going in the right direction, not sure why Ainge felt the need to make the Davis trade.

Miguel (SF): Chad, Love your work -- a fan since before you went to ESPN. Did the Warriors make a mistake letting Jiri Welsch go? He looked like a total bust last year, but now he looks like he's surpassing Dunleavy Jr.

Chad Ford: (1:23 PM ET ) This goes back to the one guy I think Ainge really discovered, Welsch. The Warriors and to a lesser extent the Mavs, really didn't know what they had. Ainge saw the talent and your starting to see fantastic results. I think Welsch has a chance to be a star. So does Dunleavy, but most of the scouts I talked to prefer Welsch because he's a better defender. I think, it the Warriors could turn back time, they would've never made that trade with Dallas. Nick Van Exel's a pain and the slip this year has blown any respect they gained in the league last season.
