Ford: Davis Trade A Mistake

Laura, Virgina: Did the Celtics make a mistake trading for Ricky Davis? 

Chad Ford: It sure looks that way. I don't think Davis and Paul Pierce can play together. They both need the ball to excel. I think Pierce is obviously the better player, so why bother with Davis. If Vin Baker's contract ends up getting terminated, the Celtics would've had major cap room this summer. With Davis and Michael Stewart on the books, however, it's not going to happen. I think Danny Ainge would take that one back if he could. 

(Well, I'm not the biggest Ricky Davis fan, but considering what they gave up and
the fine play of Mihm, it seems like a no-brainer of a trade. If Ainge wants to clear
up cap space he can easily deal one or both away. Cap-plentiful Utah for instance could
use a Mihm, and someone will take Davis. In fact, the two of them could be
packaged in a deal for an impact type player sometime down the line methinks.)
