RE: Marbury = Walker

But my interest lies in Ainge's head. He is the one who calls the
shots. Yet he claims that it is Obie's decision as to whether Perkins
or Hunter touch the court. Is Walter being showcased? (One can only
hope I guess) If so, whose decision is it?

I guess what I'm getting down to is this: If it is Danny Ainge's team,
then the time has come to give the kids a few brief minutes per game of
baptism by fire. That is the only way we'll find out if they have the
skills to help this team in the future. I said some time ago that Obie
would be crucufied if he played Hunter for a few minutes and Hunter went
Fortson on him. Fans would demand to know the reason why he has
languished on the end of the bench, in street clothes for the large
majority of the year when we have such a glaring need for rebounding
help.

Banks has shown flashes which indicates hope for the future. The same
could be said of the two big young studs, if only they were given a
chance.

Obie and Danny need to get on the same page about the direction of this
team for the future as opposed to the present. There needs to be a
clear message that shows what they are trying to accomplish. Right now,
I don't see it.

Good post, Sean. Though Obie's scapegoating of Toine was certainly not
admirable, the fact that it was a lie is what really bothers me (not so
much the lying, but the implications). It now is clear that it was BOTH
Toine's and Obie's idea to play a Obieball. The proof is that they're
trying to continue playing this style despite their separation and
attempts by their coach and GM, respectively, to get them to stop.

The question is, when will Ainge and the ownership have had enough to
fire Obie? Is it realy all about money? Don't they understand that the
fans can put up with the losing if the team is going in the right
direction? Don't they understand that most Celtics fans would rather see
their team lose games while developing the right style and young talent
than win with ugly, terminal, growth-stunting Obieball?
