Re:Banks Sparked Us

should be starting along with Mihm. Ball distribution was awful in the 1st
half and very obvious is PP's continued ball mishandling.<<<<

Interesting. My recollection, and the play by play backs it up, is that
things started to go south when James was replaced by Banks late in the 1st quarter.
The Celtics had a 18-17 lead (after Chicago made it's free throws).
By the time James came back in the 2nd quarter Chicago was up 29-24.
We started our sorry second quarter with a lineup of Banks, Welsch, Davis,
McCarty, and Mihm. At the 8:30 mark Blount and Baker replaced McCarty and Mihm.
Thirty seconds later James replaced Banks. We scored a total of 2 points in
the quarter by then. But the ball was already rolling downhill and couldn't
be stopped.

Interesting that you would single out Pierce's ball handling in the first
half or for the game.
Pierce had one turnover in the first half, two for the game. Welsch also had
one turnover in the half, two for the game.
Mihm, McCarty, & Davis all had 2 turnovers in the half. Walter and Ricky
both had three turnovers for the game.

In the third quarter comeback while Banks was on the floor, Pierce had 7
points. McCarty had 5 points, 1 assist and 1 turnover. Davis had 4 points, 1
assist and 1 turnover. Mihm had 4 points. Banks missed his only shot of the
second half (all four for the game), had 2 assists (2 point jumper by Davis and a
dunk by Mihm), 1 steal, and 1 turnover.
When he left the game the score was 57-52 Chicago. We outscored Chicago 36 to
20 the rest of the way. It is also interesting to note that Jiri Welsch did
not play during most of the third quarter comeback.

If you ask me we dug that 1st half hole as a team and we dug ourselves out of
it as a team.
No one person was responsible for either half. Banks played a mediocre game
at best, with some good play and some poor play, which is about what you could
say for his season so far.
