We also have a roster slot available. I think he may be having problems 
getting along with people or why would they let him go? Remember all the teams he 
has been with and that fight he got into?  But he has talent. It couldn't hurt 
to bring him in for a playoff run...

<< Mercer has played for five other NBA teams:  Boston, Orlando, Denver, 
Chicago, and Indiana.  This writer expects him to clear waivers.  A possible place 
for him is New York.  He played well at times for Knicks GM Isiah Thomas when 
Thomas coached the Pacers.   Denver does have cap-room to claim Ron, and he 
can fit into a running game there -- or in New Jersey, should he clear waivers. 
 The Nuggets and Nets do not have a roster spot open currently, but the 
Knicks do have a slot.  Detroit has two slots, and could deactivate Darko Milicic 
if they added Mercer, who is only 27-years-old. >>
