Re: [Celtics' Stuff ] "It's not only shortsighted, it's obstinate."-Globe

Now this is a headscratcher. How can Danny say this after he put Carroll in
charge? Did Carroll not read the memo? Sure, Hunter played a lot last game but
that was the first time. Although he starts, Carroll has always minimized
Mihm's minutes with the perfect example of the game before last where he had 10
rebounds in the first half and then played minimal minutes in the second. I
believe Banks only played 5 minutes in the last game and I think we will continue
to see that. And what about Kendrick? How is he supposed to play when he is on
the injured list? I assumed that GM was in charge of that or is it the coach?
If it is the coach, then Carroll definite is in the obstinate category,
preferring Stewart or Kendrick. I'm sure after Hunter's coming out party that Danny
is feeling validated and wishing his coach would put some time into Kendrick
also.

So I don't know why Danny is saying this in lieu of what his coach is doing.
Sounds like another disconnect in the Danny/Obie fashion. If Danny is Danny
"REAR" Ainge, then Obie was Jim O'Binstant with Carroll now following in his
father's footsteps....

<< "Another key to the vision is a greater emphasis on developing young
players," said Ainge, defending himself against O'Brien's army of
supporters. "I feel like players like Joe Johnson and Chauncey Billups
should be able to develop. One of my biggest concerns, as much as I
like Walter McCarty and Mark Blount, was letting them play 40 minutes
against Kenyon Martin while Chris Mihm, Brandon Hunter, and Kendrick
Perkins sit. It's not only shortsighted, it's obstinate. And not
playing Marcus Banks more than 10 minutes is unproductive to our
 vision."

So there. O'Brien is out and interim coach John Carroll has his
marching orders. And Danny continues to take the bullets while the
Celtics play themselves out of the playoffs and into the lottery over
 these last 23 games. >>
