RE: What would you give for Iverson?

Hi Josh,

I respectfully disagree with your statement.

I do remember when the Celtics were tough. Being tough in athletics, is far
different than running around with a posse, driving around with illegal
weapons in your car, skipping out on practice and screaming to the press
that you should be consulted before your boss is hired or fired.

IMO, being tough in athletics means being disciplined, team oriented,
focused, selfless, most important, mentally tough, NOT "street thug" tough.
There are lots of athletes out there, but without all of these other
components they will continue to fall short.

He could possibly help a strong team to the promised land, but is certainly
not a cornerstone to build a team around. I hope the 76'ers keep him for a
long time, because as long as he is there, that franchise goes nowhere.

In case you're still wondering at this point, you're right I can't stand
him! ;-)

Best regards,

roger

I would move heaven and earth to get Allan in green. The guy is the
toughest competitor in the league, and far and away the most talented small
man since Isiah Thomas. I don't care how much he palms the ball, or how
many tattoos he has, or how often he's late for practice. Auerbach would
have loved him. Doesn't anybody remember when the Celtics were tough?

Josh
