Carroll -- dead man walking

Given Carroll was the offensive coach, we now know why that half of the game
plan was so vestigial the past several years ;^)

I can just imagine Carroll trying to use his psychobabble smoothy talk on
Obie -- no wonder Obie rated offense so highly!

Frankly, at this point I'd be excited if they just named Heinsohn as interim
coach for the last 28 games -- at least he'd have them running (didn't he
say he could teach them to fast break in two weeks?), and I don't think he'd
be sugarcoating things with talk about moral victories a la Carroll. And
best of all would be watching Heinsohn interact with today's zebras.

Of course, it would also be the virtual hoisting of the white flag as far as
playoffs go, but given what Carroll has (not) accomplished and seeing what
an old-schooler like Hubie has done in Memphis, perhaps a step back and a
deep breath and a little fun under Tommy-gun is just what this team needs
for a playoff push. After all, we only have to beat out the Heat and the
Sixers.

BTW, IIRC it was the writer for Hoopsworld who originally suggested that an
attempt to dismiss Harter was the final straw for Obie. I haven't seen this
confirmed or even suggested anywhere else.
