Re: Here's Two Trades For Doctor Danny
Fortson doesn't match what I think Danny wants in a power forward (he needs
to be able to score, not just rebound). Fortson also has a long term contract.
If you trade Blount to Dallas, it is Josh Howard that will do the trick.
Dallas would be more than happy to get a mobile center and still keep their big
four together. Blount would fit perfectly with them because he doesn't need the
ball. Plus, they could afford to resign Blount for whatever they want. He is
their missing piece. However, I think the Mavs would have to offer more with
the position they are in, but we already have their no. 1 pick. Another pick two
years from now is just to far away. But I just don't think that we could put
together a three team trade at this point. So Danny could just go ahead and
make the Blount trade with Dallas for Howard and the 2006 no. 1 and use these
guys for off-season trade for the power forward....
Should we keep Blount? I say no. He has the worst hands in the league and
isn't a very good rebounder. But there are worst centers in the league. The
problem is that is will be looking for a payoff and I agree that we can't have two
free agents to be in Mihm and Blount and get played like the Clippers did last
summer with Brand, Odom and Magette. We can't afford to lose the value,
especially if we could get what I think we can get out of Dallas. Yeah, we will get
worse and they people will call Danny a snake, backstabber, loser and claim
he broke up a contender. But look at what we will have in the summer or the
draft picks we will have to make deals. I'm with ya, Danny....
