Re: [Celtics' Stuff ] NBA RUMORS FOR WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 4

I'd definitely take a chance on Chandler if he's available -- however 2 #1's and banks is too much.

I'd suggest:

the Dallas Pick
our 2nd round pick
Chris Mills
Ricky Davis

for

Tyson Chandler
Eddie Robinson
Chris Jeffries (to make salaries match)

Chicago needs a SF to take over for the retiring Pippen -- and have JYD and A. Davis to go along with Curry (if they keep him). I think any deal for Chandler would also need to take on Robinson's contract (or maybe JYD's 4 year deal). I'd gladly take either of them (and play them -- JYD as the classic energy 6th man, or Robinson as Jiri's backup at the 3 - basically a less talented version of Ricky Davis) for a shot at Chandler.

And if he's got a bad back? His rookie contract is up in 2 years -- along with Baker's and Robinson's. I'd say its a small gamble.

(the 0ther) mark

Jessen,
Have you gone insane? Chandler has a chronic back problem.
Avoid avoid avoid. The Celtics can find a Big Tme PF in the
draft, though one of the high school variety may take three
years to develop.

If Tyson Chandler is available, you go for him all all over the place. He may
be a bit of a punk but he is so young, you expect immaturity. Would the Bulls
take Banks, Dallas no. 1 and next year no. 1 for him? (I don't want to trade
Banks but you got to give up something to get something....but 3 no. 1s is
probably too much anyways....)...

problem: They are available. The big guys that teams are willing to move come with
a serious "BUT" statement. The players we dream of -- Kevin Garnett, Dirk
Nowitzki or Jermaine O'Neal -- are not obtainable. Even Kwame Brown, the former
No. 1 overall pick of the Washington Wizards, once the bust of the league, has
been withdrawn from trade talks. According to league sources, the available
players include Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler, Rasheed
Wallace, Michael Olowokandi and Scot Pollard. The thought of Abdur-Rahim brings
visions of grandeur. Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis and Abdur-Rahim, can you imagine?"
