Re: Mason (was: story missing)

My vote would be no. Not that he doesn't have basketball skills.

Actually I am hoping that the burning of Mason, Forte and other low life's
is just the start of the owners purging the NBA of these "lack of character"
players.

While some may prefer the ghost ownership model, I hope for involved owners
who refuse to hire guys like Mason, Forte and Kemp. Let them play overseas
or find other employment elsewhere.

Would the Celtics be interested in Anthony Mason? I'll say this while
admitting that I haven't seen enough of Mason the last two years and aware
of the fact that he was a disappointment in Milwaukee...

I think he'd be a great addition on a one-year deal. He gives you a backup
power forward. (Something the team still doesn't have, unless you count
Hunter, and I don't think Obie counts Hunter) He gives you toughness and
rebounding and defense. He gives you an option at power forward if you want
to play Antoine at small forward. And he actually gives you pretty good
Antoine injury insurance. If Antoine gets hurt, you'd still have a big man
who can handle the ball and pass, although Mason admittedly isn't in
Antoine's class when it comes to those skills. I think he'd be a great fit.
Of course, it won't happen.
