Getting ready to jump off the bandwagon

We are only three games into the exhibition season but the bandwagon's wheels
are getting whobbly and I'm looking for a place to jump off. Reasons why:

Although Kedrick, Baker and Banks receive playing time, Obie has shown no
attempt to utilize their skills. Where is the improvement over last year going to
come? Obie tipped his hand by playing not playing Baker and Kedrick much the
second half of last night's game when he was trying to win and put in James
over Banks to close. That gives us the basic team as last year essentially.

Now I like Mike James as a great backup point guard. I don't know what
happened to Banks from the summer league to the midpoint of the third quarter of
last night's game. I suspect that Obie told him just bring up the ball, pass it
to the wing and go stand on the three point line and wait your turn, rookie.
At the midpoint of the third quarter of last night's game, we finally saw a
released Marcus who penetrated at the right moment. He started to actually play
basketball.

But back to the point. Obie needs to looking long term, not short term (same
old, same old for Obie). He needs to be figuring out how to take a more
talented player in Baker, more potential in Kedrick and Banks and making it work.
But no, Obie cames back to the EWill/Blount combo. When that doesn't work, we
will see Delk, Walter and Battie. Defense, isolation and three point shooting,
that is Obie's mantra.

Second, Twan's game didn't improve by losing weight. It is his judgement that
is the problem. He still takes poor, poor percantage shots. Granted, he makes
some of the them and sometimes we need a player who can create his own shot.
But at the start of the season, I am for having an offense that creates a shot
by picks or uptempo mismatches. Twan teased me for the first half of
preseason game one by passing like a madman but now we are back to the same old Twan.

Going with last year's scheme, the boys were able to come back from 10 down
but wasn't able to best the Pacers second unit. Now what does that tell ya? Our
only hope on improvement over last year would be backup time of Baker,
Kedrick and James would put us over the top. I don't think that's enough to make up
for improvement by the other teams.

Therefore, I believe Ainge is seeing the same thing. We are on a course of
Walker being traded by midseason (his judgement and midset will never allow
changes to be made) in a Gary Peyton type of trade and Obie fired at the end of
the season (same reasons as Walker). I take a couple of more preseason games
before I jump off but I'm in the launch position....
