Well, you can't argue with that. Of course, if it's used to justify planting Banks on the bench and not letting him learn on the job - as it probably will be - then that's a problem.

And how about this -

< We have Antoine [Walker] and Paul [Pierce]. Nobody has stood out at
point guard, at the 3, or at the 5, with the exception of Mark Blount's
defense."> -Obie

Appears Blount will get the minutes behind Battie this season with
3rd string center Baker filling in only here and there at the 5 and 4.
We will also see lots of Williams and McCarty simply because Obie
will never allow the ''We are on the same page'' Danny to actually
coach his team.

One thing I couldn't stand about last night's game is Obie's playing his boys Blount, McCarty and EWill for long stretches. All three are in horrible basketball form (3-16 shooting last night), especially Waltuh. Even Tommy couldn't muster enough enthusiasm to sound convincing when Waltuh finally hit a shot. I've said this before and I'll repeat it again - you can't give multiyear contracts to players who are not self-motivated to improve. McCarty only shows interest in basketball when his contract is about to expire. We have three hungry, talented, self-motivated rookies who need to play, and only one of them is getting significant playing and the games don't even matter! I'm afraid we'll be seeing a steady dose of Obie's talent-challenged trio come November and very little of the rookies. Hopefully that'll spurr Danny to fire Obie's recalcitrant arse sooner rather than later.
