re:A quick review

***Once again my post was cut off. Don't know why this keeps happening but
(hopefully) here's the rest of it.

>>Blount seemed to be the worst of the four centers we had but he was
starting.
Didn't show me anything that Obie was raving about. Completely lost on the
offensive end....<<

Par for the course where the Celtics and Blount are concerned. What would a
new season be without the Celtics blowing Blounts horn and then Blount coming
out and showing nothing?

Only one Celtics starter had a positive assist to turnover ratio in this
game...I'll let you all guess which one since no one else seemed to notice.
Vin Baker and Kendrick Perkins were the only players who saw more than 10
minutes of playing time without a turnover. Both had 2 assists.

Despite playing only 22 minutes Antoine still took the most shots in this
game and 1/3 of them were three pointers. I don't think he has fully bought into
the new system. I suppose time will tell.

The thing that ultimately put this game out of reach for the Celtics was the
Piston's press.
We not only couldn't run, we couldn't even get the ball over half court.
The was especially so with the second string. They had a ton of turnovers
and also had problems scoring outside of Brown, who had a stretch where he was a
turnover machine.

The defensive play of this game was put in by a hustling Paul Pierce who
blocked what should have been a lay-up after a Walker turnover. Unfortunately it
went for naught when the Pistons were the only ones hustling with him and got
the put back basket.

All in all it wasn't a terrible showing, but I certainly wasn't giddy over
this game.
We have a lot of work to do.
I see more talent and athleticism on this team than I have seen in quite some
time.
Now we have to translate that into a good basketball team. A lot of that is
on the coaches shoulders.
