Alright, now that I've got all the boxscores fed in, I ran this to compare
averages as of Tuesday's Indiana game ( I can do totals at the end, but
averages at least shows trends in the new games for now). I think a lot of
this is deeper bench vs Walker per se although using it also gets into the
whole what his absense frees us to do too. Bleh. Anyway, probably the most
interesting stats are Blount's and Walter's vs last season. While Williams
is more effective in less minutes (less than half the minutes but about 2/3
the same production almost across the board). Pierce's TO and A both up,
probably the most direct effect of Walker gone. Slightly less effective
shooting, but closer to last season than it feels watching him.
Oh and my theory about fouls drawn correlating in any way with PT for
EWill. Didn't hold true for last year, where the average number of fouls
was about the same for the games he had above average minutes in as the
games he had below average minutes (about .1 foul per game difference).
However, this year that's not as true. This season he's averaging 13
minutes per game, but that's actual a matter of 4 games he played 19
minutes or more vs 3 games he DNP. The difference in fouls called on the
opponent is almost 2 per game when he plays this season. Hopefully this
will come through not too badly out of line:
