I understand exactly what you're saying but as I remember, the C's had a 5 pt 
lead and were up 37 - 32. NJ then hits two consecutive 3 pointers and goes up 
38-37. I can't remember if there was a TO at that point or not but I seem to 
recall the score still being tied at either 42 - 42 or 43 - 43 and then NJ 
went on like a 9-2 run or something like that just before the half and it was 
during that stretch of the game that for like 3 or 4 consecutive trips down court 
with Pierce playing 1 on 5 offensively.

So I guess did O'Brien specifically call for Pierce to take over or did 
Pierce elect to do so on his own and O'Brien because of the trust factor as the 
coach he has in him give his superstar the leeway/benefit of the doubt and allow 
him to try is the question?
