RE: Sam Smith Says C's Draft:

I agree this draft looks real weak on the surface and if may be better to
move the picks.

I am beginning to think Portland or Chicago may make the best sense for
moving Walker

Walker, Brown and Delk For Wallace, Randolph and McGinnis or we add a pick
and take Bonzi Wells a proven commodity where the draft is a crap shoot.

If we can get their second pick for Chris Wallace I would take a chance at
James Lang, Marquis Estill, Charlie villanueva or Troy Bell.

Wallace
Battie Randolph?
Pierce
Wells
Mcginnis

Or

For Walker and Delk for Jalen Rose, Hassel and Fizer. Then take Diaw or
Collison and Pavlovic

Subject: Sam Smith Says C's Draft:

16. Reece Gaines - (Ray: Not pure PG that's for sure.)
20. Jarvis Hayes - (Ray: Compared to Ron Mercer, but more athletic.)
(Unlikely on both counts, Sam, and a very inaccurate draft. Lampe
doesn't go 28. Hell, the C's would scoop
him up with one of the two picks. If the Clippers take Ford instead of
Kaman,
they wll have four PGs: Ford, Miller, Jaric, and Dooling - There's a
team you
trade with for a PG!)

1. Cleveland. LeBron James, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. Saves the
franchise or enables ownership to sell it for a higher price.

2. Detroit (from Memphis). Darko Milicic, Serbia. Talented big man.

3. Denver. Carmelo Anthony, Syracuse. A scorer and team player with a
chance to be a star.

4. Toronto, Chris Kamen, Central Michigan. Raptors need a big man, and
he has emerged as the best of rest.

5. Miami. Chris Bosh, Georgia Tech. A young talent, but Pat Riley's not
going to have the patience. That pick should be up for sale as well.

6. L.A. Clippers. T.J. Ford, Texas. Speedster point guard. Revolving
door as Clippers will let Andre Miller go.

7. Bulls. Dwyane Wade, Marquette. Bulls really don't need him, so
they'll see who does.

8. Milwaukee (from Atlanta). Nick Collison. Bucks probably would like
local guy Wade but will take the best big guy.

9. New York. Luke Ridnour, Oregon. Frank Williams hasn't exactly worked
out. Knicks need size but will take the point guard because there's no
real big man available here.

10. Washington. Mike Sweetney, Georgetown. Wizards could use more size
to gather the Jerry Stackhouse misses.

11. Golden State. Kirk Hinrich, Kansas. Not a true point guard. Sort of
a Jeff Hornacek type. But Warriors could lose Gilbert Arenas.

12. Seattle. David West, Xavier. Sonics need someone to play inside.

13. Memphis. Mickael Pietrus, France. Grizzlies need a shooter with
Gordan Giricik gone, Michael Dickerson hurt.

14. Seattle (from Milwaukee). Chris Thomas, Notre Dame. Sonics looking
for a point guard.

15. Orlando. Leandrinho Barbosa, Brazil. Magic also looking for a point
guard. Sort of a Darrell Armstrong type.

16. Boston. Reece Gaines, Louisville. Has point guard ability and shoots
the three.

17. Phoenix. Pavel Podkolzin, Russia. Worth a shot. He's 7-4 and years
away from helping, but Suns have most of everything else but size.

18. New Orleans. Mario Austin, Mississippi State. Hornets could lose
P.J. Brown and already gave up Elden Campbell.

19. Utah. Boris Diaw, France. The rebuilding begins. Talented prospect
to team with Andrei Kirilenko.

20. Boston (from Philadelphia). Jarvis Hayes, Georgia. Another one of
Celtics' all-around type athletes with size.

21. Atlanta (from Indiana). Maurice Williams, Alabama. Another point
guard. That's why everyone is excited about the Bulls. They have two.

22. New Jersey. Sofaklis Schortsianides, Greece. Worth a shot at a big
man. He may be shorter than 6-10 advertised.

23. Portland. Josh Howard, Wake Forest. Anyone who won't be arrested.
Solid, mature all-around player.

24. L.A. Lakers. Anderson Varejao, Brazil. No help for Lakers in the
draft, but he could develop.

25. Detroit. Brian Cook, Illinois. Worth a shot for big shooter who some
see going higher.

26. Minnesota. Rick Rickert, Minnesota. Take the big local guy and hope.

27. Memphis (from Sacramento). Dahntay Jones, Duke. Excellent athlete
who could back up if Battier is traded.

28. San Antonio. Maciej Lampe, Poland. Seven-footer who is years away,
so they could hide him overseas.

29. Dallas. Kendrick Perkins, Ozen High School. Texas teenager who's a
little small to play center and also not ready, but a post player.

Other news:

Bulls looking to trade their pick says Paul Ladewski:

As a result, the Bulls are expected to offer a trade package that
includes their first-round pick and a player in return for an
established off guard, small forward or center. Chief among the Bulls'
expendable players are Marcus Fizer, Trent Hassell, Eddie Robinson,
Jalen Rose and Jay Williams.

(Hmm Jay Williams, cap crap, and the seventh pick for Walker, 16th and
20th,
but alas Walker's value has tanked.)
