Re: Finally, some respect

The Celtics finally got interesting when Ainge was hired. Before that, they
were a middling Eastern Conference team in salary cap hell with a management
team seemingly happy with that. Now, they're a team with one star, a
marketable quasi-star and a management chief obviously unhappy with the
current product on the floor. Before Ainge was hired, you knew you'd
basically see the same team next season, with roughly the same results. Who
cares? You also knew they weren't good enough to do anything more than
they've already done. Yawn. Now, someone with a vision for the future is
running the franchise. Someone who sees that the status quo isn't good
enough. That's interesting.

Of course, the bulk of their comments during Friday's game were of the
"Danny has his work cut out for him... " variety. :-) And that's right. He
does have his work cut out for him.

Has anyone else noticed how TNT has FINALLY begun paying attention to the
Celtics, going so far as to discuss them in detail and--amazingly--saying
some positive things? It's not much, but it's a start.
