It's t h o s e teams that spend tons of money on foreign scouting, not the
Celtics. No one among the BDT knew much about Parker because 1) Celtics had no
foreign scouts and 2) Wallace was reported to dismiss the notion that there
might be good players to be found outside the U.S. as ridiculous and fadish.
Wallace's hick mentality and Gaston's pennypinching, not to mention BDT's
general lack of ability to identify talent, is the reason we've ended up with
foreigners like Moiso, Wolkowyski and Sundov instead of Parker, Ginobili, and
Giricek.
