Re: Banks email

Banks at 16... I'm getting that feeling, but what a bad move. You do that,
and you eliminate any chance at Pavlovic or Zarko. So you get one of the
three guys you really like. You take Pavlovic/Zarko at 16, and it's more
than likely you still get Banks at 20. But, if you've made the promise,
you're stuck. That's why you don't make the promise...

Maybe that's where Wetzel's "high school big man" rumor comes in. Maybe the
high school big man (Lang? Ebi? Outlaw? Perkins?) is the fallback at 20 if
Pavlovic and Zarko are both gone. I have to say, I wouldn't mind adding a
big kid who three years from now actually could be an impact center.

Josh, have you seen any highlights of Zarko? I've seen him shoot a nice
fadeaway in the post, run the break and dunk in the halfcourt and fullcourt.
Granted, it's not enough to go on, but it's more than I've seen of Pavlovic
at this point. Jay Bilas compared him to Tskitisvili in terms of skills, but
with a more developed body (Zarko is older). Of course, none of us really
know.

Collison and Shorty leave me cold.

I've read the email (or rather had it summarized for
me) and I'm pretty convinced that Ainge promised
to take Banks at 16. It doesn't seem like much of
a stretch if the guy is the player he seems to be. I
have to figure the team to take Pavolic is he's available
at 20, but since he won't be, and since you can't draft
Bell or Barbossa if you are taking Banks, who does
that leave? Collison or Shortsinitis would be my choices.
Zarko does nothing for me; as somebody said, he
sounds a lot like Bruno. If the guys above are gone,
give me David West and call it a day.
