Brodeur told the Pictorial Gazette that Baker had undergone a 90-day
rehab program that had proven to be completely successful and he had "a
very positive attitude" about his future. Brodeur also revealed that the
Celtics had quietly restored Baker's salary, effective April 11, and
negotiations continue regarding the salary he lost for the approximately
$164,500 a game, between Feb. 27 and April 11.
Baker's contract with the Celtics runs for three more years, through the
2005-06 season at $13.5 million a season. The NBA season includes 82
regular games, plus any post-season play-off games for which teams
qualify.
