I don't doubt that Smith heard that from someone, but I still don't see how
that makes him a voice for the Bulls. I'd think they'd be thrilled if Pavel
moved up ahead of them. That just drops someone else down to their spot.
Like you said, they have no need for Pavel, and no reason to bad-mouth him.
Who knows? When you have guys like Wallace and Papile involved in this
process, it's impossible to differentiate the guys TRYING to spread
disinformation from those who do it unwittingly.

Chad Ford pretty much disputed both of Sam Smith's assertions about Pavel
and Lempe and even said that the people (didn't call out Smith directly) who
made the statements wanted Pavel to move down....
