The writer forgot to account for Pitino's  personality, which compelled him to
chastise and make fun of his players publicly, and to micro-coach every move a
player made on the court. As I think Peter May averred, this undoubtedly would
have driven Duncan batty and made him leave at first opportunity. But hey,
since the writer's talking about a bunch of miracles anyway (such Pitino and
Wallace being excellent talent spotters and wise basketball personnel men,
Pitino's giving up his beloved "system" and the like), why not another one  - a
change in Pitino's  irritating personality. Oh, and Toine's NOT using his
vaunted leadership abilities to organize a rebellion against his coach for
taking him out of the starting lineup would also be required.
