The word right now is that we will once again be going with only 
thirteen players. 

Eight players are signed, although it might be nine as I am unclear 
whether Bremer's contract includes a team option or a player option. 
For math sake, let's assume in either case that Bremer will be with us.  
Adding in the two definite rookie contracts (Banks and Perkins) brings 
our roster to eleven.

McCarty/Blount 

McCarty has found a comfortable niche here. He is a good clubhouse and 
community guy, and especially valuable to a slim 13-man roster as he 
can fill in at three or four positions.  We just might be forced to re-sign 
him.  And since Baker is a question mark and Perkins a project at center, 
it looks like Blount might also have to be re-signed.  That would bring 
our roster to 13... the only two new faces being the rookies.

I haven't a clue as to the thinking behind bothering to trade Songaila 
for Brandon Hunter, another Papile/Wallace ''find.''  But it doesn't 
matter since neither player would be likely to make the cut on a 
13-man roster.  

Our only hope of signing even one outside FA for the vet. minimum  
(or Lenny Cooke?)  is if we eat the contract of the useless Sundov... or 
hopefully make the kind of huge, team-makeover trade that Danny is 
presently working on.
