Touching, Ray. Incidentally, there are several columns on 
Boston.com about "Southie's Everyman" Will McDonough.

I think the early 80s was the golden age of Globe 
sportswriting, and he was the star of stars back then. I 
became a Boston sports fan because of the quality of the 
Globe writers like Montville, Visser, Gammons, Ryan, 
Borges and the young Shaugnessy.
