The NBA tonight
I watched some team with Nets jersey's on but they looked more like the
Nuggets against Memphis tonight.
The Nets were down by 18 in the first half and were able to cut it to 10 at
the break. They had it within one late in the second half but then Memphis
went on a run and won the game 97-90.
The Nets were missing everything in sight, ended up shooting 39% for the
game.
Now keep in mind, the Grizzlies were playing their third string point guard
Earl Watson (Williams had the flu and Knight is injured) and he actually
outplayed Jason Kidd.
Battier had to fill in as backup point guard (it wasn't pretty folks) and
Memphis still won going away. Second loss since the break for the Nets.
The Mavericks went down to defeat with Michael Finley missing a game tying
shot for the second night in a row. The Bucks looked like world beaters for
most of the evening. Kukoc hit some big, big shots. Sam Cassell openly
pouted on the bench for a big chunk of the second half, refusing to join the
team huddle, even though his team gained the lead with the group on the
court, before getting back on the floor and also hitting a big shot down the
stretch.
The Bucks looked good tonight. The Mavericks have obviously lost some of
their defensive intensity from earlier in the season.
Sixers needed overtime to beat the Bulls. Rose had 38 pts (14-25)and 13 as
to Iversons 36 (12-27) and 7. Iverson got to the line 15 times.
The Raptors held off the Hawks to win by one. Robinson shot a three with
seconds left down by four. He certainly looked like he was fouled on the
play, more so than Bryant at the ASG, but no whistle tonight. Carter scored
at will down the stretch.
The Pacers beat a Hornets team that looked like they had spent a little too
much time on Bourbon St. The Hornets shot 33% for the game.
And finally, although it has no impact on the Celtics standings, it was the
Kobe show in Denver. He scored 51 points, shot 15-28, and had 20 free
throws, all in 31 minutes.
