[sarcasm] Nope, all those stats and evidence and such only get in the the

******You don't want subjective impressions of people you don't know? Then
go study stat sheets, because you're in the wrong place. This is a list for
subjective impressions. What you really mean, of course, is you're not
interested in subjective impressions of people you don't agree with. But
that's just my subjective impression.
Sarcasm, Mark. Sarcasm. What I want is for people to bring up evidence when they say things sometimes. I was responding to your comment about Kestas not needing stats. No, I guess he doesn't *need* them, but it makes it more convincing. In the end, you're right, it's all boils down to subjectivity because we're all different people with differing viewpoints, etc.

*******Ah, you didn't read the article, but you're annoyed at the
speculation and lack of coherent information... Again, sounds like you're
annoyed by the lack of information that you agree with. I tell you what, as
soon as you find that complimentary piece on the courageous, warrior-like
Vin Baker, why don't you post it to the list and straighten everything out?
I'd restate my point about the media (not email lists) drawing attention to
Wallace's failings, but I suspect you got it the first time.
You're right, I am annoyed by the lack of information supporting Vin Baker, but I'm also annoyed at the speculation. We really don't know what's going on, but a lot of us think we do. And I don't think "posting it to the list" is going to "straighten everything out". You seem to be one of those who thinks this list has some sort of power in the "real world", and I just wonder what form that may take. If any. True, the media may influence the new owners' decision on what to do, but I suspect they have their own end-of-the-season plan already in mind. Maybe not, though.

"Drawing attention to Wallace's failings" is a bit like saying "pointing out the Devil's foibles", isn't it? No one is saying Chris Wallace is a good GM.

And Bird wrote some more:

No offense, but when I get that old, I'm just gonna go off in a corner and
shoot myself. And y'all talk about us not "accepting reality"?

*******Oh, for a time machine.

There are a lot of great people on this list. Most agree on some things and
disagree on others-strongly. And that's great. Then there are a few who are
patronizing, condescending asses. Congratulations, Bird, on being one of the
few, the proud...
No problem. In the same vein, I enjoy your viewpoint that anyone who disagrees with you is either blind or stupid or an ass. Gene can say that he won't renew his League Pass until Antoine Walker retires, but no one can respond in a similar, over-the-top, way? Because only outrageous statements that *you* agree with can be taken seriously, perhaps? My point was that, if I ever get so "old" (or fed up, with, or whatever) as to not want to watch the team, I'd rather end my (basketball) existence. Gene must be pretty fed up, and that's ok, but it kinda seems silly to me to base your watching the team you're a fan of because of one guy. One guy who doesn't seem that bad to me.

I like your postings, Mark. When they are less full of just plain bitching and whining (though, obviously, we're all entitled to our share of that) and more of your peculiar (and informative) slant on basketball and the Celtics. If you don't like mine, that's your damn problem.

Paul Gaston delenda est.
