If Coach Jim was in charge of the Eighties Celtics, he would have
benched Parish and McHale and played Bird at center.
Want to bet against that?
Mark, get with it, Jimbo's simply not a Big Man's coach - he,
with his perimeter-based game is the antithesis of Bill Fitch,
which is what this team needs with its present collection of big talent.
They've got Perkins, Mihm, Hunter, big guards and small forwards
who can rebound and they play Obie ball. Doesn't make a lot of
sense and it's simply a mismatch of coaching and talent.
And how are they suppose to make a determination of (evaluate) what
Mihm is, if Jimbo won't use him. Or are they purposely keeping
Mihm under wraps to keep other clubs from aggressively pursueing him
as a free agent?
Ainge needs to deal off Blount and McCarty, to wrench the style away
from Obie. McCarty is playing well, so this is the time, when you should
deal him, and ditching Blount will force Jimbo to use Mihm. We hope.
Eh, knowing Obie, he'd probably start Baker at center, and it looks like
all is quiet on the trade front according to Wyc.
Speaking of Baker, on a more wholistically-coached team, he
would be used off the bench. He's a specialist, a low post specialist,
and should be treated as such. Not a starter, but a productive reserve.
The point guards are simply mediocre. That's why Ainge, for insurance sake,
really needs to go out and either sign one of the very good Lithaunian free agents
Arvydas M. or Sarunas J. or draft a PG. Looks like a good crop including
a surprise candidate with a familiar last name (later post for further elucidation).
Good that we think they will use Mid-Level exception.
Wyc may be passing the buck to Ainge however, as he said it's his call,
but after this season's excoriation, you would think they'd use it.
Will be an insult to the fans if they go back on their promise.
