A Cornucopia of Monday Delights

- Was Rodney White auditioning himself for a Celtics trade? Ainge is indeed
looking for that type of player and I can't imagine White being all that
expensive an acquisition, as the Nuggets are likely to lose him via
free agency and they have a lot of SG depth.

- And then there's Jason Williams of the Grizzlies. With the recent success
of point forward Mike Miller and the Grizzlies depth at PG with Earl Watson
and Troy Bell, one wonders if the incomparable Jerry West will deal him?
And what could the Celtics truly give up for him?

- Until either the Knicks, Bulls, or Wizards pull themselves together, the
Celtics can pretty much stumble and bumble their way across the NBA season
and still make the playoffs. So, right now it's looking very much like
the 15th and somewhere in the 25-to-27 range of picks for the team,
slight improvement over the past draft.

- And don't downplay that Dallas pick. There may be 5 - 8 players available
with that pick that could help the Celtics. Take Jameer Nelson for instance.
At his very worst, he'll be a competent backup for Banks. At his best,
he'll outplay Marcus and free him up for a trade.

- And then there's the guy Ainge was scouting in Utah this past weekend.

- Mr. Jessen is singing a different tune these days about Jiri Welsch.

- I say let Jiri be Jiri and don't dreadlock that Jiri. Give the guy some shots.
Perhaps a flu shot these days with the Super Duper Mega Death Flu
on the way. It's better for the team that Jiri is getting the touches,
than Williams, James, Blount, McCarty, and Pierce in his occasional selfish mode.

- When will Coach Jimbo realize that James isn't a point guard? Probably
not until after Ainge trades him or they let him escape to free agency after
the season.

- It looks like a lot of the Boston writers were snowbound and never made it out
to Denver. Not surprising, twas a very bad storm in Massachusetts.
