Re: Re: Indescribable

Hi, i just joined this list yesterday so sorry if i bring up things that have been discussed at length.

The reason the celtics lost last night is the reason they frequently lose, Jim O'brien is a horrible in-game coach. From the middle of third quarter on they played that stupid half court one pass, one on one offense which they already proved is not the way for them to win. They need to swing the ball and set picks off of pierce and walker to get open shots. Delk was feeling it and when he sets his feet he is deadly (I won't get into my diatribe about how he is a horrible point guard, can't pass or make decisions, but I will digress). When delk is able to spot up he can be a plus and they totally forgot about him last night (which on most nights is the smart thing to do). I can't understand why they played that one-on-one (or one on five as it was) offense. It was terrible to watch and it's a shame because they played great defense. They'll win thursday but unfortunately, they can't match up against the nets, especially with jimmy "i have no idea how to substitute players" O'brien on the bench.

Now that Indy knows they can beat us by smothering Pierce, Thursday will
be
interesting and a must win. Bad habits are hard to break.

No big tragedy. Pierce had an unusually crappy game and no one else, with
the
exception of Antoine, could step up late (and even he missed the crucial
'throws). Waltuh, Delk, Williams - all cold late in the game. Neither
giving
the ball to Pierce and letting him do his thing, nor swinging the ball
around
for open threes worked late last night. Meanwhile, Hardaway had a
flashback
game and Artest was simply outstanding. Such a swoon, coupled with
Hardaway's
making every big shot, is unlikely to happen again. As long as Isiah
doesn't
figure out that he needs to play Foster, Strickland and Hardaway more,
we'll be
fine.
