But I'll Take Pity And Explain Ryan's Reasons

Contrary to Mark Berry's recent statement implying
some sort of agenda on Bob Ryan's part against new
Celtics ownership originating from a possible support of Wallace,
Papile, or O'Brien, the truth is Ryan has no agenda other than
what he percieves to be and quite likely is the truth.

First of all, Ryan thoroughly dislikes O'Brien's system and has roundly
criticised
it. So there's zero support on his part to keep O'Brien and his
nefarious three-point
gobbleygook around.

Secondly, Ryan has blasted Wallace's maneuvers, and he,
like most of us, recognizes the need for a new GM.

Ryan's criticism of the new owners does not spring in any iota
from loyalty to Pitino's emplacements.

Instead, Ryan is rightfully down on the new owners because :

1) They come off as arrogant trust fund babies. Prancing about the
Celtics locker room wearing warm up jackets like a couple of wannabe
poseurs. Quite undignified.

2) They dissed Bird. The new ownership is so taken with their perceived

PROFESSIONAL ABILITY, that they've iced the Bird out. They cancelled a
meeting
with Larry during their first week of occupancy, and they've never made
an effort to re-approach Bird, as he waits idling in Naples. After
the Charlotte fiasco, the Celtics ownership should have made a
beeline to Bird and negotiated a way for him to be Director of
Basketball
Operations. It's what their fan base wanted!

3. Clueless recognition of their season ticket holders (of which Bob
Ryan
is one of them) and fan base:

A. Their formidable ticket price increase is an unmitigated disaster, as
highlighted
in a recent Mike Fine column. Who in their right mind, would announce
such a startling increase in prices, BEFORE the season is over,
even before the team had qualified for the playoffs. Such a large
increase,
considering the disatisfaction in product and future uncertainty, simply
didn't make any
sense.

B. Despite the humongous rise in prices, the new ownership told us they
weren't using the middle class exception and bettering the team.

C. General perception that the huge increase in tickets cost is to pay
for
Walker's extension, a player that possesses fans like Ryan's head to
spin in disbelief over his game.

D. The fact that Steve "Zero NBA Experience" Pagliuci is quasi in-charge

of personnel decisions. Yes, he may be better than Wallace, but
that moniker applies to most of humanity.
