It's very simple, really - fans criticize, dislike, boo the players that they perceive as not playing up to their potential because of stupidity, selfishness, or laziness... Walker is capable of playing great, smart basketball, but more often than not prefers to take stupid, crazy shots, including threes from 5 feet above the line early in the shot clock. That's why he gets booed a lot. It's the same reason that Pierce gets booed, but since Pierce does much less of that AND has far more ability to actually make those shots, he doesn't get booed nearly as often. The fans may boo the lesser players when they take stupid shots, but they don't boo them for lack of ability. There are exceptions, of course, but generally fans won't boo if they see honest effort. There is no double standard for Walker - he gets treated according to the way he plays.
