Texas

In my nine years in the Big 12 I have not seen anyone as good at the point
guard position as T.J. Ford. Some would point out that he isn't a great
perimeter shooter, but that's like saying that Miss America isn't beautiful
because she has a bunion on her foot b& just put a shoe on her.

It is a great luxury for Rick Barnes to not have to worry much about the
Texas offense. As long as Ford is on the floor, Texas has instant offense.
The Longhorns will run their sets, but having Ford gives them the ability to
create offense when nothing is there.

Ford plays with such great confidence and that confidence is exuded in his
teammates.

This is a team with many great parts. Ford is the engine and the ignition,
but they have a lot of fuel in the arsenal.

James Thomas is an absolute monster in the paint. A lot of post players are
excellent defensive rebounders, but few are great offensive rebounders.
Thomas is great at both.

He is just relentless on the interior and often gets a lot of big baskets,
cleaning up inside.

Brian Boddicker, Sydmill Harris and Royal Ivey are all great role players,
each bringing a lot of energy to the floor.

Texas gets a lot of credit for their offensive explosions, but this team can
really get after you on the defensive end as well. They are so tough and
physical, which wears on opponents over the course of forty-minutes.

You may knock down shots, but you will never outwork and out-hustle Rick
Barnes' team. They just keep coming at you.

And as long as T. J. Ford is on the floor, you have to like their chances.
