Re: Bremer will emerge

Well, I don't want to make a big deal out of it. Its not
a big deal. We're choosing here among bottom feeders
making the 350,000 minimum, so its hardly that big a
deal. I'd give it a few years.

I hope JR develops into another David Wesley. A self-made
NBA player who was tough and fit, but limited in point
skills particularly initially, who still managed to turn
heads early on and had a heck of a career. He was
impressive from day one for ML Carr>>Joe Hironaka

Joe, when you've got a 12-man roster, you don't have much room for trash or
tryouts. Bremer could turn out all right, but I'd suggest he'll be more of a
Erick Strickland-type, but we'll have to see where his toughness gets him, as
compared to the tenacious defense and footwork we saw from Strick.

The issue, in my mind, is that the Celts direction for the fairly long term is
AWAY from a true point. If they plan to use their money for TWO stars plus
Baker, then they expect these guys to play a lot of minutes, and thus work an
offense that's easy on their legs. Hence, the PG runs around, probes for
openings, then dishes to the Captains. If the Caps are doubled, the ball may
come back for a 21st second jumpshot.

As long as we've got that, mindset, we'll stick to the three point shot and
lots of minutes for the Caps. Bringing Baker on board, as a low-post scorer,
will mean he wheels and shoots, or kicks out, but don't count on any backcuts
for layups. I had hoped for a PG who could play when they brought in Baker,
but all that means is an added element to the offense, without sacrificing the
Bomb Game.

As long as we've got PP and Walker together, it seems we'll have no motion.

I'd like to make a motion for dismissal, but I'm not sure Gaston's paying
attention.
