Re: Leave Kenny alone, he's gone....and the team WILL miss him

See here is one point where I disagree. You are basing these comments off
of one year, this past season, from Kenny, obviously. >>Cecil

Actually, I'm a fan of the way Kenny plays, and I saw good things when he got here,
and good things before he left. The Pitino Press wasn't suited to a guy with bad
knees when he arrived, and the platooning aspect of the Pitino offense had a point
guard in there who couldn't handle the ball.

Maybe there are those who want to blame Kenny for the poor offense of the '97-2000
seasons, and Kenny did come to camp out of shape for at least two of those years.
But, sadly, the team didn't make use of his skills because the big men were lousy,
Twan wasn't going to the hoop without the ball, and there was nobody to feed it to.
Anybody think Kenny wouldn't have thrived on the Nets or Kings this past year?

Hey, the guy's getting paid big bucks and should be working hard for it. I just think
the culture of the Celts for the last four years has been discouraging for the fans
and the team, because there IS no clear direction. Remember when the Celts were
gearing up for the last two years to get a top-flight big man next summer? One who
could get the team to the playoffs? Now, we're saddled with three big contracts and
no bruiser/scorer/rebounder will be available to us with our $4M to spend. With
nobody moving on offense, there was really nothing for Kenny to do. Even this past
year, while playing good defense, the offense gave him virtually no opportunity to
score, except as the third jumpshooting option, and very few opportunities to make
assists. It just wasn't a good place to work for a PG.
