It's tragic when Peter Vescey tries so hard to be "hip".  He ends up 
signifying nothing.  All he does is trot out his own innuendo, disguising 
it as "inside sources" and puffing himself up as if he was buddy-buddy with 
Deep Throat.

He's more interested in coming off as clever and quotable instead of 
intelligent and well-informed.  As a result, he breezes through the rumors 
like a politician on the make, and takes credit when one of his 
"Miss-Cleo-like" comments can somehow be twisted into foreknowledge of an 
event.

He's not hip to the beat, man.  Rilly square, Bob.
