Stats on ESPN

The boxscore (on ESPN) is a lot more sobering than the
result.

Antonio McDyess and Kurt Thomas outboarded Walker and
Baker 30-14. Othella Harrington went off for 14 easy
points off the bench (5 more boards). All told, it was 55-
45 on the glass in favor of the Knicks, whose tallest guy
is probably Travis Knight.

SunDogg fouled out in 14 minutes (I thought he was out
there a bit longer).

Boston's three-headed PGs needed 58 minutes to collect
just 4 assists. I fear that's going to be closer to the
rule than the exception.

And of course Boston continues to shoot poorly from the
field at .392.

Positive stats include 42 points off the bench (Vin and
Shammond in double figures); an excellent 42 trips to the
free throw line (.810); and the fact that Boston
outscored the Knicks in all four quarters (despite not
using any starter over 26 minutes).

By contrast, Kurt Thomas played 35 minutes, McDyess 32
minutes.

Setting all that aside, this game simply never looked in
doubt even when Walker and Pierce sat half the game.

I'm not even sure if the Knicks ever tied the game, much
less held the lead. It was just a day in the office for
Boston. I hope a lot more future road games look this
easy.
