Re: Sore points, Jackie - how about deep lacerations and no points?

Once again, Eggy writes with more truth than Jackie McDonoughMullin can render from
her distaste of Gaston.

Don't know about you folks, but I'm really tired of the BT pinning every problem on
Gaston being unwilling to spend money. He paid more than anybody ever had for Pitino,
and took on all of Pitino's cronies, hairstylists and chauffeurs. And, if they knew
he wouldn't bend on the Lux Tax, they should have planned their roster better back in
Feb when they gave away expiring contracts to get Delk, the Man Worth Five Players.

As Eggy points out, Rod Strickland shot the ball pretty well. Maybe not from
halfcourt, but, well, there are only so many Milt Palacios to go around.

Obie doesn't want a point guard this year, but he can't come out and say so. He's got
Delk as his microwave, and two hungry kids who will do as he says. If Jackie was
fair, she would have castigated Wallace for not making a three team deal with Seattle
and Chicago to get Best while he was under contract. To think that they were so smart
to wait until Best's price dropped to $1.4M, and then walk away from him is beyond
foolish. Come on, Jackie, shooting down Gaston and leaving Wallace unscathed is poor
journalism. But then, don't burn that bridge. Where would you get your next scoop
from if not from the Doubletalking Doublechin ?
